Many of the traditional activities of Design Engineering are fully supported by CAE systems. However new skills are required, particularly in computer modeling techniques, applications software, data management, and communications. In fact, experience shows that the productivity of an Engineering group continues to improve as the group familiarizes itself with the capabilities of its CAD/CAM/CAE system through a program of continuous training and education. ADAPT offers a wide range of solutions and products to provide rapid prototype parts that are created directly from 3D CAD data and in most cases are fully functional, replicating the properties of the final production part.
The Selective Laser Sintering (SLS) process brings a number of advantages over other rapid prototyping techniques with the ability to produce parts in a range of materials. This flexibility brings the opportunity to produce component parts, patterns, and molds in wax, poly carbonate, nylon, and metal.
Stereolithography (SLA) utilizes a similar methodology to SLS and is capable of producing a higher surface quality but does not offer the range of materials as SLS. Usually SLA models are used as patterns for our cold pour molding.
Cold Pouring is another process that gives us the ability to mold in a wide range of materials such as rubber, plastic, epoxy, and urethane resins. The main advantages of this process are in cost and timing.
These Rapid Prototyping solutions along with a new injection molding process using a proprietary die material gives ADAPT Technology the edge in supporting our customers.
